ME - AND MY PASSION

I’ve always been passionate about photography. No matter whatever else I do, I’ve had a camera with me. Okay, some might call that obsessive. Certainly many around me do when they see me grab photos at just about every opportunity – no matter how absurd that might seem to them.

My interest is all encompassing. I don’t just enjoy taking photographs but I enjoy exploring the technologies that make the form of photography we enjoy possible. From optical physics, through electronics and on to the vagaries market economics: you can find me studying (and often reporting on) them all.

Best of all, I enjoy sharing my passion. Whether that’s through writing, talking or creating interesting images and I hope you discover some of that passion when you explore this website.

Okay, what are the really important things in my life? I'm married to Gill, who has long found out that 'holidays' are really excuses for photo opportunities for me, but she does consistently resist carrying my kit bag. I've two children (who feature in many of my books) and two rescue dogs, courtesy of Holly Hedge Animal Sanctuary, near Bristol.
